BE THE CHANGE

When we look at what is happening in Trinidad and Tobago today many of us are afraid. We are afraid of the increases in crime, afraid of the types of crime, for the safety of our children and family members.

Many people feel powerless. They want to see a change but the problems seem so huge and overwhelming they don't know where to begin. We know that change begins with the self.

This page is dedicated to linking you to projects, programmes, articles and ideas that have made a difference. Be bold, take a chance, link up with others parents and begin to make a change by supporting, sponsoring or creating projects that make a difference. If you know of inspiring projects or websites, let us know at: info@ttips.org

The Integrated Urban Community Planning and Development (IUCPD) Project was designed to address the need for planned and coordinated implementation of development projects in low-income communities through institutional coordination.

Community Development Plans (CDPs) are a public, participatory-based approach to developing comprehensive community plans that enable residents, business owners, property owners, community groups and other stakeholders’ direct input into determining the future of their community. Participants work together to identify issues, develop goals and outline strategies to ensure the long-term success of their neighbourhood.

The Community Development Plan (CDP) for Gonzales supports the development of a plan for growth in Gonzales. The CDP for Gonzales has been identified as an important and necessary component for renewal of Gonzales as well as an integral step toward an overall comprehensive renewal strategy for the area and ultimately the wider East Port of Spain area.

Mothers Against Gangs

This program has been developed by the Nidra King Center to address the issue of crimes committed by the youth of today. Realizing that not all youth who associate in "cliques, groups, or crowds" are members of gangs, this program focuses on issues and some solutions MAG has to offer in order to prevent crime by youth and other misguided individuals in general.

Women Across Differences is a national network of women and women's organisations committed to individual and social transformation in Guyana.
